DIY Lavender Face and Lip Sugar Scrub

It’s been a hectic hectic 2019, and neglecting this journal space has been a worry on my mind. So here’s a DIY recipe that I want to share, which I’ve been using amidst my busy schedule.

  1. 35g raw coconut sugar (can be substituted with fine brown sugar)

  2. 15g jojoba oil (can be substituted with coconut oil but it’s oilier)

  3. 8 drops of therapeutic grade lavender essential oil ( I use Young Living)

  1. Mix all ingredients into an empty glass container.

  2. Scoop out a teaspoon and gently scrub after cleansing.

  3. Exfoliation can be done every 3-4 days. This amount can last about a month. Store in a dry place.

And there you have it!

Good Tidings

Looking back at this year, we have been very blessed to be started on this journey. We want to thank each and every person along the way who touched our lives and gave us really great advice, personal and business-wise. It wasn’t an easy start, and the going is still tough, but we have learnt so much from all the experienced entrepreneurs out there, as well as from our own family members.

It won’t be an easy 2019, but we are certainly looking forward to the adventure it will take us on!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from both of us at Lagom Singapore!

Business is slowly picking up at a pace that we are currently comfortable with. It has been an exciting October with some of the projects that we have been involved in, so the Universe is really showing us signs that we are on the right track.

The beginning of October saw us conducting our first workshop at our newest gig- Itchy Fingers! The location was bee-you-tee-full and they really live up to their name as a platform provider that brings the crafter community closer. On the other hand, my experience at Naiise was not as, well, nice. But I shan’t dwell on that. In addition, we were approached to become sponsors for a non-profit organisation-Playeum which C was super proud of, as it is the direction that she wants to bring the brand towards- central focus on sustainability with a swig of social-entrepreneurship. Lastly, we ended off October with a bang- a corporate partnership with honestbee’s latest launch. The experience was great because we have never conducted a workshop for 60 odd pax with their family members hovering around, with a whooping 4 hours duration. The team had fun but were realllllllly tired at the end of the day.

But this isn’t the end of our 2018 journey. November and December will be our busiest months yet, with the upcoming collaboration with Playeum, ongoing workshop sessions with Itchy Fingers as well as something more international in December, with our flea markets.

We would like to make use of this opportunity to thank you for your support. By signing up for our workshops or popping by at one of our fleas, you have made our brand’s journey a lot easier. Till then!

Social Enterprising

It has been superbly busy, with my full time work as well as developing the business concept. There are a few exciting projects and collaborations that are coming up, and while they are still in the early stages, I am really looking forward to where that would take me.

One of the ones which I can at least confirm here is that I am now well on the way towards moving towards making LAGOM a social enterprise. I have partnered up with Playeum, a centre that provides a platform to serve disadvantaged children in the community through providing play and creative opportunities. Being able to contribute a little in my own way to the community is something I really want to continue doing.

If you have any exciting projects and would want to collaborate, speak to me! I love to see where our conversations can take us!

Purrfect September

Did you spot the pun? The 'perfect' is sarcastic given that the cats have been a little angsty and rebellious lately. They are entering their teens and showing all signs of adolescent behaviors. Both the husband and I have been rather busy cleaning up after them and making sure that most routines are still being followed.

On a side note, the workshops are still going strong, with the fourth session just completed with Naiise yesterday. I have one more in two weeks' time, with a hen party thrown in between. With the slight lull, I have been doing a bit of thinking and what is the direction I want to bring this business towards. I have been toying with the idea of making the concept of sustainability become more visible... maybe that could work out, we shall see. In the mean time, I have been changing some of my lifestyle choices. Bamboo toothbrushes and my tooth powder have already taken over my bathroom routines. My menstrual cup (you read that right), reusable organic cotton pads (you read that right twice) and rose gold straws have all arrived. Perhaps I should really look into stocking these up to sell.

Really looking forward to where this takes me. Till then.
